Whipz 4 Rent - Damage Responsibility Policy

Effective Date: June 1st, 2026

This Damage Responsibility Policy is incorporated into the Whipz 4 Rent Terms of Service, Rental Policies, and related agreements. It outlines renter responsibilities for vehicle condition, accidents, damages, misuse, repairs, fees, and financial liability during the rental period.

1. Customer Responsibility for Vehicle Condition

  • Renter accepts full responsibility for the care, condition, and proper operation of the vehicle from pickup until return and inspection.
  • Renter assumes financial responsibility for damage, loss, theft, negligence, misuse, or incidents occurring while the vehicle is in their possession unless otherwise prohibited by law.

2. Insurance Requirements

  • Customers must maintain valid personal automobile insurance during the rental period.
  • Whipz 4 Rent does not provide insurance unless otherwise stated in writing.
  • Renter is responsible for ensuring coverage applies in every state traveled.

3. Vehicle Inspection & Documentation

  • Vehicle condition may be documented through photographs, videos, inspection reports, mileage, fuel readings, GPS, or telematics before and after rental.
  • Pre-existing damage may be documented before pickup to avoid disputes.

4. Damage Categories Customer May Be Responsible For

  • Body damage including dents, scratches, cracked glass, mirrors, trim, lights, and cosmetic damage.
  • Tire, wheel, suspension, undercarriage, alignment, and curb damage.
  • Interior damage including stains, burns, odors, ripped upholstery, spills, smoke contamination, pet damage, or excessive wear.
  • Mechanical damage caused by negligence, misuse, improper fueling, reckless driving, towing, off-road use, or prohibited operation.
  • Lost keys, lockouts, jump-starts, towing, roadside expenses, or recovery costs caused by customer negligence.

5. Smoking & Pet Damage

  • Smoking and vaping are prohibited inside vehicles.
  • A $200 smoking remediation fee may apply for smoke odor, residue, ash, burns, or smoking evidence.
  • Pets are permitted only in approved carriers or carrying cases.
  • Pet-related odors, hair, stains, scratches, or excessive cleaning may result in pet cleaning or damage fees.

6. Accident & Damage Reporting

  • Any accident, theft, vandalism, breakdown, or damage must be reported immediately.
  • Customer agrees to cooperate with insurance claims, police reports, photos, investigations, and documentation requests.
  • Failure to promptly report incidents may result in additional liability.

7. Unauthorized Drivers & Prohibited Use

  • Damage caused by unauthorized drivers or prohibited vehicle use may result in full financial responsibility.
  • Prohibited uses include reckless driving, racing, towing, rideshare, off-road driving, illegal activity, or driving under the influence.

8. Loss of Use, Administrative Costs & Recovery

Customer may be responsible for diminished value, towing, impound fees, storage fees, vehicle recovery expenses, administrative costs, investigation costs, and loss of rental income related to damage or misuse.

9. Security Deposit Application

  • The $150 security deposit may be applied toward damages, cleaning, smoking remediation, fuel shortages, towing, tickets, late returns, unpaid balances, or policy violations.
  • Any costs exceeding the deposit remain customer responsibility.

10. Payment Responsibility & Collections

  • Customer agrees to pay all damage-related costs, repairs, deductibles, towing, cleaning, administrative fees, diminished value, and other unpaid balances.
  • Outstanding balances may be referred to affiliated recovery or administrative providers, including Biz Filing Agency, for account resolution and collection activity.

11. GPS & Investigation Support

Whipz 4 Rent may use GPS tracking, telematics, communications, photos, inspections, and related records to investigate incidents, locate vehicles, verify claims, and resolve disputes.

12. Governing Law

This policy is governed by the laws of the State of Iowa.

Policy Acceptance

By submitting a booking request, renting, possessing, or operating a Whipz 4 Rent vehicle, customer acknowledges and agrees to this Damage Responsibility Policy.
